Hello Brattcat, Thank you for your good wishes my friend. Looking at the first photo, I had no idea it was a cake. Whoever made it is a very talented person indeed. Bon appétit.
Tricky, tricky. I figured you had something up your sleeve (or behind your lens!) or your white balance was way out of whack, 'cause snow does not look like that...
I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I love carrot cake. The little sprigs are deceptive. T. S. Elliott wrote that April is the cruelest month, pushing up daisies out of the snow. Shoots from carrot cake in January are much more comfortable.

Seeing the first shot, I was thinking that snow was quite strange...:o)
Bon appétit!
Now had they been snowdrops, you might have fooled me . . .
Hmmmmmmmmm. It's (late) lunchtime here but no carrots.
No, harbinger of increased caloric intake!
Ho! And mmmmmmm-mmmm.
?? I wonder if the two blossoms are harbingers of something else, like twins?!
Thought it was sand, in Hawaii...
Yum...I love carrot cake!
Nah, when I hear the dripping of sap in the buckets, I'll believe that spring is coming. ;-)
Beautiful cake!
I thought that it was way too early for flowers in your first photo, which your second photo showed to be a very clever tease.
