i don't know if this is art

but
either coming
or going,
it fills me with colossal joy.
this is adapted from flo the elephant, a knitting pattern from the 1930s that can be found on the "knitty" or "ravelry" site.

Cute! Looks like a fun knitting project but I hate the sewing-it-together part! Keep stitching!

This is Art, with a big A. I had a very similar one when I was about 4 feet smaller and 45 years younger

And no one has to clean up after this elephant.

Regardless of how one feels about politics, I think most would agree that an elephant is a better mascot or symbol than a donkey.

Julie and I sampled a bit of your winter weather during this past week, as we were in Washington, DC, including being stuck to two days trying to leave due to cancelled flights.

That is a nice elephant. You should publish the pattern or post it or whatever. It looks hard.

You can say that, this is more art than most of the overvalued junk peddled in many contemporary art museums.

It's pretty cute! I love the tail. :-)

This would take some skill and patience. I wonder if this pattern was a response to Babar the Elephant stories which were also from the 30s.

Elephant rear end is delightful to behold.

Saturday night and finally some free time. Art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. But then so is kitsch. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

How adorable and so like the circus elephants at the Monte Carlo circus. Love that this is made with an old knitting pattern.
