Without opening the metal latch, it is possible to wipe the fog and condensation off the inside of the window. On real cold days, I remember as a child putting my hand on the window to melt the frost away.

Snow and ice came very near yesterday, but stopped 15 kms away from here! and we still have sun...That's why your window looks like a beautyful painting to me.
