Just wondering what this is? Strange, yet interesting.

Amazing. I enjoyed this but remember a program on TV last night about the early life on Earth and some looked like these.

At least some of them are 'praying.'

I think it was a kind of exhibition that's represent a spring dance. However it's winter now, they were freezing in their lifetime...almost sculptures of glasses, waiting for the right time to be alive, happy , colourful , dancing around!
wow I think this is a crazy Monday for me! LOL

This is certainly the most unusual photo of the day.

It reminds me, somewhat, of Gladstone's, a famous restaurant right on the beach in Malibu, California. They serve little round loaves of sourdough bread, and when people ask to take the rest of the loaves home, the waiters will come to the table and use colored tin foil to wrap around the loaves and transform them into a foil animal, often a swan or a crab. You see lots of folks walking from the restaurant or standing by the parking valet holding their foil animals.

An army of foil praying mantises is bizarre.

I love this! I thought it was pretty creepy at first, but after reading Dave's comment I'm pretty sure this it out the back door of some restaurant, where they've created an artful battlefield from the leftovers people accidentally leave behind! It sounds like you had a great time-- good for you!

Reminds me of a few Scifi movies (not the best ones). Yes, strange but somehow fascinating.

Strange capture, but Rob is right: it reminds me of bad Sci-Fi movies, I've seen my part...

This picture is 'bugging' me, it looks like an army of scorpions and praying mantis.
Pass the RAID, please!

It's fixed.

Very clever. There used to be a place called Tinware in Portland that sold restaurant supplies.

I think it's ART. Right? I've seen this guy make this stuff. On a personal note: I have a close and personal friend that does this stuff from time to time too.

That's an amazing photo. They look like something from a science fiction movie. Whoever created them is very talented.

I'll add this to my OTIS collection (odd things I've seen)

Tin is in! In Brattleboro, obviously. The question is why? What is this all about?

Did you ever think
When you were a kid
That things made out of tin
Might be a serious sin?

Didn't think so!

Okay, that's just completely wacky. Wouldn't have expected anything so strange north of Boston. But for those of us not into the whole religious-commercial Christmas thing it's a perfect satire.

Eww creepy! But also elegant!

Jilly said...

How very strange - and made of tinfoil? Menacing the way you've photographed it!

Now this is truly amazing! Who had the patience to do such a thing? I'm with the ones who found this 'tin origami' collection looks like a Sci-Fi movie set! :-)
