on the back road to dummerston

this farm clings to the side of a hill,
its two horses gawping from a small field,
its two dogs grizzling in the dooryard

I love the angle through the fence. My Dad used the word gawping a lot, I haven't heard it in years!

Oooooooh, those dogs don't sound very friendly.

It makes me remember of an old song: "I'd light the fire, you'd put the flowers in the vase that you bought today.. Our house is a very very funny house, with two cats in the yard..." Sweet mood of the everyday life in a farm..

I've never heard the word, "gawping." Must be a nor'easter thing!

It looks like one of the building is falling uphill!

Love the shot, though...great light!

I like the subject and your description, but I think the light is everything in this wonderful image.

It's remind me my childhood because I grow up on a beautiful farm in Brazil.
This picture is so lovely, thanks a lot dear friend!

I'm glad you resurrected "gawping" for us to ponder. Gawping could be the post title on this beautiful lit scene. The back roads are always more interesting.
