the last cauliflower

mr. brattcat brought in the last cauliflower.
it had snow on it.
brattcat steamed it in wine,
drizzled mustard/mayo sauce over it,
grated a cheddar cheese cap over its lovely head
and baked it until it was golden brown.
yummmmmmmmm.

I'm going to try this recipe. Usually we just steam it, but this sounds much better!

Never even thought about growing cauliflower! And to still have it in the garden at this late date sounds good to me.
No school today!

Yummm-yummmmm.... I also like cauliflower very much even though I buy it, and even deep-frozen, and mostly just steam it, like Giorgio. But this evening I'll make it "gratin", with a lot of parmigiano!

A real autumn meal.. We also prepare it in the oven, with cheese and bechamel sauce.

PS I loved your post about Portland, the picture seems so much like an Edward Hopper's painting!

That sounds great. I normally just eat cauliflower with a cheese sauce and Swedish meatballs.

I always suspected that Vermonters knew what it was about when it came to food. I think there is a love story here.

Never thought of steaming it with wine...A shame for a French woman!!!
I usually steam it in water then cover with Bechamelle sauce and grated Swiss and "au gratin" in the oven!!
I"l try yours.
Cauliflowers are The vegetables of Brittany where I come from!!
