the door beside Mother Birch

Yesterday I went on a Big Tree Tour.
In the dooryard of this house stood a massive paper birch.
This house, I think, is older than the birch.
And yet it's hard to imagine one without the other.

This is a nice one, Kitty. I love the three strong colors at work in this image.

I really like your vivid colors around this strange dark door.

Wonderful doorway - like the colors and feel of the birch and house harmony!

Hello sweet friend!
This doorway is so beautiful and classic!
In fact, I did not understand the meaning of "birch", I guess it's about the tree.
Perfect shot!
Have a nice week, here Marina and I will have a break from our classes, they call this holiday week of "Vacances Toussaint"- I think it's Vacancy of all saints.
Au revoir!

Nicely balanced image, BC, both with individual elements and in the use of colours.

Sweeping leaves is a soul-destroying past-time: the previous lot are not disposed off before more carpet the ground.

There has been much creativity over the years with the wiring around this doorway.

Lovely post. I look forward to seeing more of the birch tomorrow.

That's classic, I would guess...Interesting for sure and yet somewhat forboding (does that make sense?)...

An excellent composition, Brattcat.

I'm assuming this is a private home (the house, not the birch)...

Heh, heh.

I like how you combined the doorway and a few sprigs of birch. What a good example of a Greek Revival style doorway. Might we see the rest of the house or building on Thursday?

This is so beautifully composed - colours, textures, such a beautiful doorway and those beautiful fallen leaves and pumpkin.

You did the perfect theme day post as well. The nicest doorway post of them all.

Ooh, the irresistible temptation of a closed door. What mystery might lie beyond it?
