taking a dive

moments after i took this shot one boy at a time mugged for the camera,
jumping from the rocks into the churning water.
each time i held my breath, waiting for the leaper to resurface.
i'm happy to report they all made it out safe and sound.

The mother in me frets that the murky churning waters can be dangerous! I love the photo of queen anne's lace. I would love a batch in my yard. Isn't it a member of the carrot family? So pretty, lace-y.

Dear Greensboro, I'm told it's part of the wild carrot family. It could be rather greedy in a garden though, taking up more space perhaps than you originally intended it to take.

This does look like a scary place to be diving into the water.

Oh thank goodness. Those rocks look dangerous.

Sometimes, I'd like to be a young boy to dare to do such stupid things! :)

I used to jump from the cliffs surrounding Wiamea Falls in Hawaii, where we lived when I was 9 - 12.

Thank you for your birthday greeting in your comment on my website. It was the first birthday greeting I had today. When I woke up, I checked my website, saw your comments, and was then puzzled at how you would know that it was my birthday. (I had not seen the birthday greeting on Julie's site yet.)

I then checked my profile, as I surely did not think that my birthday was listed there, nor that anyone, even anyone as observant as you, would have noticed it. And my profile did not list my birthday, but it did list my new age, as of today. So, I guess I must really be one year older (59), because it says so on the internet, and it must therefore be correct.

I love this! It is so representative of the fearlessness of youth. Seems to me I did similar things but I can't remember...

And no, Lois did not put up that sign! :-)

I could not do that nor would I be able to watch. I was fearless in many things but not cliff jumping. MB

Carefree and careless days of our misspent youth! They look like three great friends having the time of their lives.

Until one day... and then the town will be sued... Oh sorry, I can't help it even after hours. What I really like is the colour and texture of the rocks against the flowing water. Beautiful!

It's fun. It's dangerous. I'd do it if I were that age.
