skywatch friday: strange sky

my daughter used to hold her breath when she passed a cemetery,
fearful she would breathe in a wandering spirit

do you have any superstitions?

Nice shot for Halloween... Superstitions? Not really no, only when I pass under a ladder on friday the 13th, with a black cat nearby. I just get myself a garlic garland in those cases. You never know.

A rather stark scene today! Make a wish when you go thru tunnels is a favorite superstition of my children when much younger. Perhaps it's a form of prayer to get through safely??

Superstitions, not so much! I love the cemetery photo though!

My superstition was that I wore the same pair of brown corduroy bell bottom pants for every exam in college and graduate school. (Yes this was the early 70's). After I got good grades, I figured why break the streak.

I have not. It is not right to believe to them.

At first I thought, no I don't have any supersitions. But, then I forgot about that silly thing about eating black-eyed peas on New Years day. I know it's silly, but I still do it.

I won't walk on anyone's grave in a cemetery. I also eat black eyed peas on New Year's Day. That is a great picture!

I like color and composition. Very interesting photo. Superstition - black cats make me feel uncomfortable and follow attentively where they go...

I like this picture, it has a real mood, a strange atmosphere..
Superstitions? In France when we really want or hope something we "touch some wood"..I often do it!

No!
But I do love old tombstones.

I, too, hold my breath when I pass a cemetery, for the same reasons as your daughter. One of my brothers does the same, only he adds patting the top of his head to holding-his-breath.

If I am riding in a car and I pass a cemetery, I lift my feet off the floor.

Striking photo. Almost threatening. I was very afraid of zombies when I was young and felt very uncomfortable near cemeteries.

Whenever I pass a cemetery I always ask the person with me, how many dead people do you think are in the cemetery?

Stark, Brattcat. Not scary, just cold and lonely.

Starkly beautiful. I find cemeteries fascinating so I love this. No superstitions as I was born on Friday the 13th. I grew up with a very superstitious mother and had to watch so many things. Now i never do!

I love the mood here and you've cropped it beautifully. So many stories are archived here.

Filipinos have sooo many superstitions, it's crazy. I'm glad my parents were both scientists and didn't tolerate that nonsense. That said, I still won't go home straight from a funeral because the spirits might come home with us. So we always stop at a café or shop first. :D

Beautiful photo.

Don't walk under a ladder, mostly because you don't want a paint can to fall on your head.
