Snow lends itself to black and white. Lovely serene scene.

Very stark and very beautiful. I think I'd like to trudge through that field (maybe to take some photos) ... for oh, five minutes or so ... then, I'd fly back to Florida. ;-)

And the sunset view is not exactly out view...Lois took it about a block down the street from us...much of the foreground, which you can't really see, is golf course...
A gate and fence seem to be an invitation to explore. I agree with Jacob that I'd take a few shots of the snow and then zoom back to our relatively warmer climate. Terrific scene and composition.
And beautiful it is.

yes, it is stark and yes, it is beautiful!! B&W, a perfect choice for the subject. Despite the obviously cold weather, it looks inviting!

P.S. IMHO, gates and fences mostly call for B/W... perfect choice!
This gate is inviting: I 'd like to push it to walk to the other side...I hear the silence appealing..
