Queuing up Miles Davis "All Blues" for this one :-). I have little experience with running water that has frozen, so this is pretty amazing to see. Keep warm out there, and keep the toes and fingers cozy! -Kim
Oh, gee. I wonder when's the last time our river froze. Not in my tenture. . . . It's interesting how the ice is broken and choppy because it had to deal with the current while it froze. Or was broken up in the course of being frozen.
I love the coloration in your photos. It isn't that I mind more monochromatic palettes, I like them just fine, but deep colors and contrast are what I'm just naturally drawn to. I know I can always find something stunning here.

How I love this... it reminds me of the frozen St.Lawrence seaway when we lived in Montreal and the rvers of my childhood.
Very interesting take on the scenery!
I can't believe it's a river. How cold is there, Brattcat? It certainly gives a blue feeling.
Great photo, made even greater by your comment!
That's a river?? Amazing.
I don't think I ever want to experience weather this cold.

The very intteresting picture...,
I love your description. It's amazing how blue white can be!
Sunny :)
I'll be 'too blue' if they say it's a no go today. Should hear in a few hours.
Where does the white go when the snow has melted?...
Lumpy, bumpy and BRRRRRRRR!!
Sometimes when I take snow pics they turn out blue---is it the atmosphere? MB
You do have a way with words; and with a camera.
Looks rather like a crusty blue moon.
"Gallop to the sea." That's beautiful, Brattcat!
Its beautiful its really bleu :-)
I see you have also MANY snow!!
Its here again snowing !!
Too, too cold. Frozen solid blue is more like it. This scene certainly defines your weather.
No frozen rivers await you here. 70 degrees by the weekend.

That's some ice... and a river is still there! Creative monochromatic theme, wonderful image.
Frozen enough to walk on the big blue? Must be awfully cold!
It looks like a miniature Himalaya seen from the plane. Lovely.
You...never blue...always positive!
But the river...wow what a cool shot, it's so different!
I can imagine the current...
Very special shot!

This is a river? Oh my! Never seen anything like this.
What an incredible sight, frozen in time!
Pretty. Just like northern Soria in Spain in winter.

Like a glacier. No deep crevasses, I hope.
