It has been so many years since I have lived where there is snow that I had forgotten about the sound of boots crunching on the crust of snow. Thank you for reminding me.
Such a pretty winter sky. I love the sound of snow crunching, oh wait...I think it maybe my brittle bones in the cold! Keep warm, it's snowing here...again! Sunny :)
This is one of your best ever, Brattcat! Absolutely stupendous! The colors are vibrant, it is tack sharp, and chock full of interest.
Frame it and hang it! Or send me a signed print so I can hang it and tell people I know you!
Lakeland isn't too far from us...well, an hour or so and Tampa's a couple of hours...
But, I'm sure you're going to be very busy...It is supposed to warm up sometime next week. It's 48 now but feels like 28 and will get colder the next couple of days.
I've never seen anything like this in my 25 years in Florida!
I can hear it, and also the breath of the walker, and I can see the little white smoke coming from the mouth, getting soon mixed with the clouds of the sky....
Blouzy? Haven't come across that word before. Lovely photo though with the blue of the sky and the crisp whiteness. But where are the skaters? Cheers. Melbourne Daily Photo
Yes of course I can hear them but they aren't mine unfortunately.
Versailles palace grounds are closed because of the snow -please don't ask why- so much as I would like to try and rival this beautiful photo, I won't be able to.
I have no idea where it is now — I think it finally found its way back to whatever dark space in the house it usually stays. We never kill them and just leave them alone. We see empty egg sacs and hundreds of baby spiders every few years or so, but only two or three decide to live with us. :)
I think Paul's identification of it as a huntsman is correct too. I read the Wikipedia entry and the description fits. Not poisonous but the bite can swell and itch, just like any bug bite. So it can stay. :)
One cat prowls around small town Vermont.

That word 'blouzy' sums it up so well. I can certainly hear the crunch of feet because the air looks so crisp.
Girl...it's so beautiful!
oh gosh, it's really cold there, but winter and snow bring fabulous pictures!

Delightful snowscape and a nice sky too.
Great adjective to describe this, and I do think I can hear those boots.

Sorry for forgetting the update about the spider!

Yes, I can hear the crunch all the way to Quincy. I recognize those clouds ;-)
I can hear the crunching and almost feel the cold as well! What a beautiful sky!
