Yeah, I've been ice skating on a big pond before. Creeps me out. Deer Pond. I would have had a better time if I had one of those augers with me so that I could measure the thickness of the ice every two feet. I fear the ice breaking as I skate farther and farther from the shore.
And Sebago Lake. Now that lake has a big hole in the center.......not for me.
When I was little, we used to skate at an ice arena, in my little ice skating outfit. If the ice broke there, I didn't drown.

The ice doesn't appear to be really safe, but I hope it is. The hat on the child bespeaks of her personality!

So pretty and photogenic. Seems to be very comfortable in front of a camera. A future model photography, is it?

Nice sequence. She certainly looks like she likes the cold and ice. Maybe she will become an olympian ice fisher?

Your camera sure did love her...actually, we know what really happened...you took a series of wonderful shots of a beautiful child who was possibly, as you suggest, envisioning her future.

Let's hope whatever her future holds, that it's filled with joy and happiness!

A beautiful set of photos, Brattcat!

What a joyous subject you captured here, BC. She's pensive and playful and having so much fun outside. Isn't that hat just a delight on her?
