This is another photo with a Currier & Ives feel.

This reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting. It's very pleasing to the eye.
Keep warm!

Looks a bit cold to sit there today.

Nice scene anyway!

What a sweet snowfall photo. Had to enlarge the photo but still could not figure out who/what is behind the window. Any clues?

It is hard to catch snowflakes in flight. At least I have never tried but would think by now, with so many different cameras and settings that I would have surprised myself with at least one picture filled with snow- flakes in focus. I like your photo because they are out of focus but still there. The picture is nice.

In reply to your comment about my drawings I left this comment on that post.

My mother set me down on the floor with a brown paper sack or bag and she had used scissors to cut each side out so the paper was flat. Then she showed me how to turn it over and she gave me a pencil, sharpened, and told me to draw "pretty" things. Sometimes people stopped in and saw me on the floor drawing with sharp pencils and complained that I might poke an eye out.

You will probably smile.. But I'd like to sit for a while under that porch, listening to the murmurs of snowflakes, a hot chocolate in my hands..

PS: I can PROMISE you that you'll see Monaco in a closer way very soon..Ü

Can't say a word, let alone two :). We never have heavy snowfall like this in Hiroshima. Happy new year, Brattcat, I know I rarely keep in touch with you, I wish you all the best in 2010.

Beautiful shot---Christmas Card material. we don't get weather out this way like you do we just get gray skies and RAIN and more RAIN. It is just dreary so I needed a sunshine lift. I know spring will be here soon and I am ready. MB

Ah, yes, those are the big, fat, soft flakes we are getting in western NY, too. Gorgeous photo. Is that your porch, brattcat?

Very nice, I love pictures of snowfall.

I love the shades of green on this house. Is it yours?

The falling snow combined with the empty rockers, give a very wistful feel to this image. The greens work well.

Love that flaky feeling of the snow...

Hi Brattcat! Lovely shot. Sounds like the northeast really got battered with snow...

We're just cold! Too cold for Florida! And it's going to last several more days before things moderate.

Ugh!

This house is not mine. This is the house next to mine. The owners have a wonderful aesthetic sense. I love to look out my windows at their property...and take photographs of it. Is that nosiness or appreciation?

Oh, dear - New England winter. Lovely but hard. It's pretty darn cold here tonight, which reminds me of the many benefits of modern central heating.

This is another great one, bc. You really caught the snow in its glorious beauty. I like the porch rockers awaiting their blanket of snow.

A great image, perfectly composed and with the right amount of falling snow!
You are lucky with neighbors like these, and they would have many excellent pictures of their house.

Do you believe me if I tell you I've never watched snowing like this...? It surely makes a wonderful photo! :-)

Those are some great big flakes. I would be shocked if we get anything like that, more than likely we'll be lucky to get grits.
