best image 2009: obsession, posted july 11

certainly not the most beautiful, definitely not the most commented on,
but i photographed this smoke tree over and over
trying to capture its enchantment.
to my unskilled eye, this shot came closest.

It is difficult to improve on perfection. I think you can stop trying. And you are, as Bhavesh suggests, anything but unskilled.

Methinks you have a special photographic talent - the "eye" - which eludes many, if not most, of us!

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's because it looks like an Alice in wonderland 's picture: it seems to be taken from the other side of the mirror...

I'd hardly say you had an unskilled eye.
I like the combination of strong and delicate in the picture, it's very interesting to look at.

Thanks for re-posting this picture. I probably missed it the first time around and that would have been a real shame, given its beauty!

I remember this - - it still has that ethereal quality -- an artistic image that I could see as a book jacket. Great choice from Brattleboro DP.

I think it would be very hard for you to choose a single photograph, BC. Over and over I've seen people choosing the photograph they treasure the most so I'm happy to see this amazing image which I haven't seen before. It really made me stop and look.
