Weston, Vermont--closing the door

some memories we carry away with us as we close the door and move on.
but some memories remain behind, clinging to the surfaces we touched,
adrift in the vacant air.

Very nice comment to go with the photo.

I feel this every time I see a house where I lived, a room where I worked or something like this. Memories of people and of moments...

Sometimes, we lose some memories along the path. Where do lost memories go?Do they become ghosts of memories?..

I do love your poems!
Wonderful thought dear Brattcat, you are so talented.I think some doors are closed when we finished some important stages in our lives and we are able to move on!
Beautiful post my friend!

The photo is superb.

Your poem is superb.

That's a double superb! Or, in French: Superbe! (I think)

Beautiful and poignant. You've captured a bittersweet feeling everyone has experienced, but phrased it in a way that we never could. Very touching. Happy belated birthday, also!

The poem gives me pause and works well with the monochrome picture. Is that path overgrown with weeds because a new owner has not been found?

Very souful and desolute image at the same time along with the very apt words. Photography helps to pinpoint a memory.
