Hahaha, our leaves look like that too but that's because the Texas sun is frying them alive. It's still over 100 down here... every hellish day... count your blessings!!
I think this year has been all screwed up as far as weather goes. I know we had the coldest July ever recorded and everything has gone downhill since April when we got too much rain. The leaf is, I think, a sign of things to come.
Beautiful contrast of colors in an sad image that is a message to us. Walking in a park this afternoon I was surprised by the number of fallen leaves. I'm not so sure to be displeased by this. Our fall and winter are quite palatable, but our summer often isn't.
I love each season in its turn and especially those small hints of change: the new chill of evening, the slightest change of colour.
I guess it makes sense that the northern hemisphere is on the cusp: this weekend in Sydney saw temperatures of 23C and we are meant to be in deep winter.
Go figure ...
Today, I have a house to complement you post of last week.
so pretty. i am so looking forward to taking photos this fall with my new camera. we do not see changing colors but can travel out of the area to see such a beautiful site.

I thought the same things this morning when I saw yellow leave littering the yard. Ack! But I love the contrast in colors and textures in this photo.
Minimalistic and beautiful!
So!... but a interesting closeup anyway.Summer's just racing away.

Beautiful shot, by the way!
Wonderful picture , that says so much in the most simple and smart way..And, for me, in those days, a message of hope..Ü

Just shoot me now....
Let's hope it is just a wayward leaf and not an early indicator of Autumn. Nice shot though.
"Listen, I had an accident. I didn't mean to be down, where I'm slowly dying and being tromped on!"
"So, let me help you. I'll put you back on the tree."
"No! Just leaf me alone!"
Beautiful! I love this photo - it's so clean and the contrast is beautiful. Sorry, I'm thinking more of the photo than of the end of summer for you!
