urban gardener

Bill has taken a tiny patch of dirt abutting the co-op parking lot

and transformed it into an exotic oasis.

Love the juxtaposition of the two photographs: bearded man and bearded flower!

Well Kitty-
Yes, you might have either stumbled upon the 'urban gardiner' or the great grandson of the infamous Wild Bill Hickok! Great look.

That is an awesome flower! What kind is it?

Yes, I knew there were two wasps. I walked all around trying to get a shot of both of them that showed them both but it never worked out so I used this one and let people guess.

I enjoyed my visit to your blog today. I like the subjects you choose.

Thanks for helping me to make history.

Ahh.. I haven't visited here for awhile and missed so much. Great photos and text. He looks to be an interesting man and one who gardens... I think I'm in love.

You're getting brave with the people photos. I might be encouraged! Very nice, and beautiful flower. I like how Bill looks - very individualistic.

Bill looks like Davey Crokett's younger brother. Good job, nice portrait, nice flowers!

Lovely shot of this chap, BC. Is that a cataract I see in his right eye? He is a true child of the 60s: with the diamond stud to prove that he does not totally live in the past. You know what is refreshing: that a charming beard/moustache combination like that is not stained with the foul tabac!

Is that a passion flower of some variety? I first saw one that complex in the Languedoc and was totally won over by their amazing complexity.

Julie, after reading your comment I checked the other photo I took of Bill two nights ago, and his right eye shows the same cloudiness you see in evidence in this photo here. I would not have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out. And yes, that is a passion flower. You are astoundingly observant and knowledgeable and I feel so honored to have you and other CDPB photographers take such careful notice of my very amateur work. As for your comment yesterday...it would be bliss to gather a group of you in a real physical setting and share an afternoon in conversation.

This is a great combo of images here and the comments and observations from your followers add so much to the post . . . this really illustrates the "community" spirit of CDP.
