Really nice, brattcat. This doesn't feel very Vermont-y to me, but I know Brattleboro has some high Victorian houses with lots of gingerbread, so that must be where you found this one.

Yup! I can hear them Brattcat, perfect in monochrome.
And what intriguing stories they could be. I like your selection of detail on this house with a carpenter gothic kinda look. Wonderful imagination :^)
... or maybe even someone snoring in the distance. I like your angle here. I thought gothic too.
Stories, like memories and secrets, like to play and run in old patient stairs..
Beautiful wood details. It looks a movie scenery!

And you are quiet and you hear them . . . fortunately for us.
I think the steps are whispering, "Paint me."
If these walls could talk.....
The b/w sets the mood and the under-stair perspective lends the mystery... love it

And when the whispers have died down you can hear the creaking of the steps as the local ghost ascends them...
I don't think these stairs were made by a carpenter. Maybe an artist.
Sweet whispers---yes I can hear them also.
Love the red wagon---a very nice sight.
Love all your pics and the words that go with them. MB
Yes, I can hear it too.... :)
I will be very quiet!
Fine details here.
Great photo! -- barbara
This summer's heat could make you delirious, summoning tales from the depths of your memory.
What a beautiful photo.

Wonderfully composed shot.
Oh, I can hear them-- and smell the tang of iced tea, too.
