I have seen so many of these "drifters" in the Plaza in Santa Fe this year, travelling around the country with their dogs that are usually laden down with supplies also.
Ok, my take is that she's a backpacker, like many in summer enjoying the mountains of northern New England states. Do it while you're young, baby! The world just keeps spinning anyway.
I hope she is not unhappy and deep in dark thoughts as she looks at this photo.
Sigh. She'll have a long wait, methinks.
Who knows what people are thinking? Maybe Birdman is right and she's enjoying the rest of her summer vacation hiking. I just hope the dog is well cared for.
"to wait" for the world to change won't be very efficient.. It's better "to act" for it. I hope the dog agrees with her choices..
I think she and her dog both just look tired from hiking and are waiting for friends to meet them.
And change it will! But, for better or worse?
I hope she is merely pausing, gathering her strength for her next trek. I'm glad she has her dog with her.

When I first saw the dog with a harness on, I thought it was an attendant dog to help the disabled, but she does not look disabled. Only tired or bored.
I think she caught you taking her picture. Hopefully, she didn't turn her dog on you. Don't you wonder where she's been and where she's going?

"She is so" ...wishing she had new sneakers because her feet are killing her. Dog wants to go to coffee shop across the street for a muffin and mocha latte....
