the beauty of decay

at the edge of amish country, shartlesville, pennsylvania...
a wall fragment,
a vanishing path,
a weary barn.

I do like that old stone wall. The building of it would have taken some labour.

Great interpretation and saturation, post rain event.

This photo is a poem that could almost write itself...just as you did!

I'd frame this and hang it on a wall.

BTW, I'm posting on our website blog:

Wonderful, beautiful perspective of decay. I am taken by that stone wall and wonder about the hands which created it.

I hope there's not a vanishing way of life behind..

I would have guessed Ireland. Even the atmosphere is right.

They may be weary, but still standing and looking proud.

PS BC, do you have a pattern for the black kitty that you would share with me? I have a friend here that will be able to help me! :)

This is lovely, brattcat. I think Hitchcock set some of his movies here.

I love this, all the more because it's from my home state and a scene similar to those I remember.

So perfect Brattcat, there's a definite sense of history in this image, how amazing that any at all is still standing after all this time.

I like the looks and "feel" of the different textures in this photo.

I was thinking England when I first saw the scene. . . love that stone wall. . . wonder about that barn and what it housed and who were its owners and . . . and. . .
