how i spent my new year weekend - 7

the setting sun dispatched the last wisps of fog,
i found a real path (not the deer paths i'd been following),
and reached home an hour later, muddy, but happy.

do you suppose 2012 will be a year for getting lost in the woods?

Looks like the year is set to be an adventure for you, Kitty.

If this vision of joy and beauty is but one of the results, one can only hope so.

If I walk off into the woods chances are that you could be correct.

This is the one I was talking about..stunning Brattcat, you and your new camera are obviously highly compatible!! I've been watching too many creepy movies with Aimee over the holiday break to be brave enough to venture into the woods alone, you just never know!!

This is a wonderful photo, and the late afternoon sun hopefully helped guide your return to safety and warmth.

Absolutely gorgeous sunlight in your photo! I'm still struggling with my new camera and am operating on auto mode 'til I learn a bit more about manual settings.

The sunlight beckons . . .If you get lost, I hope you find your way out . . .

If it's to get lost in such a beautyful place, I would not mind...

Well, thank goodness. I was ready to call 911. Or 411. Or 511. Something 11.

Perhaps Mr. BC could invest in a GPS unit for you so long as you insist on wandering about deep in the woods just so's you can take gorgeous pictures like this!

Nice lighting. This reminds me of the cover photo on Jim Brandenburg's book, Chased by the Light.

The light is just perfect! Very nice, brattcat. Don't get lost out there; that would wreck your day. Just carry a phone with a GPS.

The forest primeval. Lovely.

Lost in the woods in 2012? Not likely for most of us but we have unlimited opportunities to go astray in other ways.

Every year is adventure into the woods. I just wonder if the paths I find are correct ones.
When I am in the woods (your photo reminded me) I feel that my chest wants to blow up in admiration of nature. I see that you know this feeling).
