Wow, that's an unexpected sight. I wonder what it was/is used for?

smudgeon: the tower was built by patients and staff of the brattleboro retreat in the 19th century. the intention was therapeutic.
...and it looks shivering cold!

This sure doesn't look like Brattleboro to me. At the Retreat? I have been past the Retreat several times, but I don't remember this tower. (Past the Retreat, not a patient!)

It feels like a fairy tale. So magical!
Oh I love that ...haunted. It does look a little intriguing standing there all alone in the snow..but I bet in spring it takes on a completely different atmosphere!
Magical indeed! I wish I could be walking there in the snow. It could be the start of so many good stories.
