They sure have made an impression just about everywhere. We have a small group here as well, but mainly Charleston is occupied by tourists :^)

Wonderful series, BC. Glad to see you're out and about in the midst of the action!

This choice reminds me of the year that Time chose "Youth" as the person of the year. I was young then. I heard some people on Fox News yesterday (quoted on another network to which I was listening on the radio) comparing Time's choice this year to its earlier selection of Hitler in 1939 or the Ayatolla Khomeni. I think the right to protest is very American. The right to protest has proven to be more powerful than dictatorships.

Protesting against a tyranny is a brave choice, in a democracy please use your vote and clear the public spaces.

Interesting choice for Time magazine. Were you out and about with the protestors, too, or just taking some interesting photos?

I think they made the perfect choice Brattcat, without protestors the world would become stagnant. Great series of images.

Perfect way to illustrate Time's choice.

I think they made a great choice. Protestors have made a difference in so many places.

Protesters overseas have had a big impact this year, but I'm a bit cynical about the US "Occupy" protesters. Mostly, they look either like scruffy misfits whose greatest happiness is just being unhappy and angry, or like people searching for a party and a date. In the 1960s, I attended several demonstrations and landed pretty good dates out of them.

For once , the "Lamda citizen"(as we say in France, or the simple man) has some glory in a great magazine. Your first pic would give a perfect subject for a painting about that idea!

I wish it could be as simple as voting.

Notice of two things in the pics. First is a question of why do most of the men, all ages, support beards if not mustaches, especially the older ones. I, being male, don't mind it but the wife does and I would probably attempt it if she said okay, however, the question is about what I noticed.

Second thing I noticed was the Gulf gas station sign and your prices. Here in Dayton, OH we are at $3.16/gal regular.

mmm ... just trying to come on back into your blog dear BC ... you have been most faithful to mine ... I am not sure that I agree with most commenters on this being a good choice by Time Magazine.

I remember a few years ago when they made Jennifer Aniston Man of the year.

As long as there are witnesses and that some positive actions follow..
