I couldn't read all the titles of the books, but "What You Wish For" intrigues me! Isn't there an old adage that cautions to be careful what one wishes for?? Food for thought.
I will pull up a chair alongside, Jilly, too please. If you will do the reading, and we can chose the passages ... There are a number here that I would love to have your thoughts on.

Such a beautiful mantel, beautiful light, beautiful books.
And a beautiful mantel it is!
Early morning light Brattcat? I can imagine a comfy chair, a cup of tea and a good book...Lovely!
Say what? They gave me ether as a kid when I had my appendix out. It was terrible!
Just giving you a hard time. It's an excellent description of this beautiful photograph.
Re your question: I'd say I've been more unruly than ruly. Probably still am. Unruly, that is. :-)
The items on a mantle say a lot about the interests and priorities of the people in the house. Books are perfect.
This makes me want to sit down in front of this scene and read one of the books... or perhaps have someone special read one to me!
Oh the light here is dreamy BC. I want to join the others around the fireplace with a book.

An atmospheric image, brattcat, one that I would not have seen. Very nice.
Sun gives light just enough to magnify those old books and those pretty dolls.
Very inviting!
A postcard picture. Just perfect.
The mantlepiece of my dreams...
Oh, that's nice. The room and figures look so old-fashioned but the shaft of sunlight is intent on breaking up the cobwebs.

I love the sunlight on the mantel, illuminating some of my favorite books.
