This looks like you have as high a density of churches as Rome.
I don't know what prompted Lowell's comment about tattoos, but it reminds me of a time during a deposition when the witness had a tattoo "Shirley" on his forearm, which resulted in the following exchange between the other lawyer and the witness:
Q: Are you married? A: Yes. Q: Would your wife's name be Shirley? A: That is the name of my ex-wife. Big mistake. Q: The wife or the tattoo? A: Both.

You certainly couldn't get much more of a difference in 'atmosphere' between this image today to yesterdays image Brattcat. Yesterday was all gentle and comforting and today it's all dark and brooding! Nice work indeed.

This is the beginning of a book...
..or the beginning of a gothic movie...:o)
"...it was a dark and stormy night..." How's that for a book's beginning??
Ciel could be close! It certainly is a visual and verbal feast.
Look at THAT! What a marvelous photo - and I agree w/cieldequimper: it sounds like ythe beginning of a book.
Ouch!
I like this shot.
Wonderful attention to the detail here with two collections as you noted!

Re a tatt: If I absolutely had to do it I'd get an anchor on my left bicep! But it ain't gonna happen. :-)
Now I could ask you the same question, but not today...
