I guess I know what you mean: I see my daughters' grandparents become kind of sad everytime we return home... and we only live 10 miles apart, maybe less.

Nicely done, BC. Thanks for the welcome back!

I know what you mean about "leavings." Yes, we had a great trip--and got back safely. But 1800 miles is too far!

Which makes every moment even more precious!

Beautiful images.
I'm not sure who said the following but I always think of it when my son leaves. "Missing someone gets easier every day because even though it's one day further from the last time you saw each other, it's one day closer to the next time you will."

Frank Sinatra - Weep No More My Lady lyrics

Weep no more, my lady, weep no more
Though your love is on a distant shore
When you're feeling low and lonely, don't let 'im know
Tell 'im you're so proud of him and give his heart a glow

Weep no more, my lady, weep no more
Get behind the boy that you adore
Then one day you'll look up and see 'im standin' in your door
And you'll weep no more, my lady, weep no more

Weep no more, my lady, weep no more
Though your love is on a distant shore
When you're feeling low and lonely, don't let 'im know
Tell 'im you're so proud of him and give his heart a glow

Weep no more, my lady, weep no more
Get behind the boy that you adore
Then one day you'll look up and see 'im standin' in your door
And you'll weep no more, my lady, weep no more
