annual strolling of the heifers

cows parade down main street led
by future farmers sporting freckles and straw hats,
seasoned farmers look up from their fields and nod,
fiddlers play,
ice cream drips down chins onto the sidewalk,
and wee children wobble in the short grass

That sounds like so much fun.

Why does it always make me laugh seeing animated cows? They're too cute to miss.

We had the 'CowParade' in Lisbon a couple of years ago, but they didn't go down the street... :-)))
Cool shot!

And who 'picks-up' after the wonderful parade of cows? Ah... life in small town America. Gotta love it! Funny shot!

You have captured part of the culture of Vermont I liked your reference to ice cream dripping. After all, Vermont is home to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. We can even buy Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream in our supermarket in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I have no idea how it gets from Vermont to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica saying frozen.

Your comments on my site are, as always, insightful, and I left a long response to your comment today.

The poster is an instant transport back to the 50' ... A very community feel to the entire thing. Hope it was a fine day for the parade ...

Wobbling is a well known wee disorder. I hope they recover soon. I love the moo gloves, so cool.
