good to the last drop

if you want a cup of tea
at the Twilight Tea Lounge
you'll have to hurry.
the yellow screen door closes on the 31st.
over the years this space has been
a funeral embalming room
a barbershop
and a place for tea and crumpets.
the tea lounge isn't disappearing entirely.
it's moving next door
to the knitting shop.

Goodnight, what an interesting mix. You could have your tea, a shave, die and be embalmed in one place...and now they can knit you back together!

What no java? I'd die for a cup, some days!

I never drink tea, but I was sad this plase was closing up. At the end of the story it is luckily moving next door...

Very clever for today! I like tea! And yes, I am sad not to be In Costa Rica as I love the beaches and area. I am left to hold the fort down at work. Dave and I work at the same place so it actually helps when one of us stays behind, but I really wanted to go to Costa Rica. Oh well. We are fortunate to be busy in such tough economic times so we have no right to complain.

I love the way you put that all together for us, Jacob . . . great comment, especially the last line. Where is the knitting shop going?

Slim, the knitting shop is staying put. The tea lounge will occupy the lower level. Right now it's storage. But it could have a view of the Connecticut River, at least in the winter.

Just lovely!

Jacob's comment is amusing. Talk about planning ahead! It is interesting to know the history of a particular building, and this one has a very eclectic past!
