Hey Kitty- Can't beat a good bookstore, can you? However, I read someplace once that any establishment(especially food) that needs to post an OPEN sign in the wiindow is one you might want to think twice about... Ha!
wow I love it too!But I think I prefer the modern and big ones, where you can seat and enjoy a perfect capuccino! But this place is really cozy! Kind Regards Léia
Hello, you must live in a beautiful little town. I also love bookstores. Yours sounds interesting! We live in a small town too but we have only two bookstores.
I love to browse in book stores. Before we ran out of bookshelf space in our home, we used to browse antiquarian bookstores. I collect travel books from the 19th and early 20th centuries. I have about a thousand volumes. Many have old engravings or early photos. I like to compare them with my memories or photos of the same places today.
It is amazing how much more flowery and verbose the writing was back then. No one would stand for it in the get-to-the-point age.

Great composition and framing!
These are so much better than the chains. You can spend hours in there and never know what treasure you'll find.

I don't think a town can have too many bookstores! I love them all, too, but tend to favor the small, individually-owned ones.
This is a super photo, too, Brattcat.
Elegant post, BC. You have given weighted importance to the text, too. Always good to see ...
Just seeing those old hard-covers way up high in that window is the only invitation I would need.
There is nothing that can compare with opening an old hard-cover, flicking the pages and burying the nose deep within ... bliss.

This one looks very interesting indeed.

Stumbled across your blog from a comment you left on "Around Roanoke". Just wanted to tell you how stunning your photos are.

That's impressive that your small town has four bookstores. Do you get a basket to lug away all the books you buy?
Cool name and exterior, even for the back door. It's a back door, isn't it?
I'm impressed that Brattleboro supports 2 independent bookstores and 2 used ones. I can't wait to see inside ;)
