ice fishing derby

beneath their feet the fish swam sluggishly.
the entire expanse of the meadows was peppered with people and fishing shacks.
i don't know who won.

The ice houses look neat and trim and create an attractive pattern on the lake.

That really is a cold sport!

Mine and yours: two different looks today.

I never walked on ice. Have to do it before I die. :-)

Your weather situation looks much improved over Birdman's! But, in either case, I would elect to use a camera to capture people who choose to spend time trying to catch something you can go buy readily in the market. And then I'd head in to where it was cozy and warm and laugh and laugh and laugh!

It looks like they're having fun! I like all the different fishing shelters they've made.

We have quite a few jokes about ice fishing in my native Alsace, north-east of France. Don't know why, it's rarely cold enough for it.

I've always wanted to try this, but now I think I'd be too cold....

I never could guess where the fun is in winter fishing. These men know it for sure.

Have you ever spent time inside one of these shacks?

Did Birdman and you coordinate? Ice fishing is not on my bucket list.

Crazy, crazy, crazy sport. Don't understand the appeal. But I do like your photo!
