after the storm

pathway brought to you by mr. brattcat.
hard to tell with the drifts but mr. bc calculates about 20 inches of fallen snow.
walking around town had to be done in the streets as most sidewalks were still impassable.
winds brutally cold for walking. brrrrrrrrr.

Wow, 20 inches! I know it is hard work shoveling that much snow. So don't work too hard! Have some fun too :^) Will you build a snowman?

Angels in the snow, snowmen and women, snow igloos...what fun it will be!

this isn't particularly good packing snow, doug. the air was too dry and cold when the snow fell.
kate, the real angels in the snow are our extraordinary plowmen. but there is a remarkable snow sculptor who sometimes leaves us the most beautiful figures on the front lawn of the town hall. i'm not certain anything can be built with this snow but i always hope the mystery sculptor will find a way.

I miss the snow, here in Valencia there is no white velvet!

Got you beat by 15 inches! Lucky you.

20 inches doesn't sound so bad from my perspective :). But I share the pain of moving so much snow.

Love the perspective! Looks like you have your work cut out for you! If it's not packing snow, maybe it will be easier to shovel? My advice is take your time, and have the hot chocolate ready! :)

When I am in the cold, I have the hardest time trying to work my camera. The camera works but, hands don't . Good job on the sidewalk Mr. BC.

That's a lot of snow Brattcat, it's like an alternate universe to me sweltering here in Perth.

We need more storm photos!

Looks like Mr. BC made you a way out of the snow cave ;-) We lost power right after I posted the 10PM image. We're lucky to be back to full power now.

Those ice circles are fascinating! Could they be baby icebergs?

Dizzying perspective - heading into the snow . . . looks purty. xx

First of all - you're very funny! Winn-winn!

Secondly, I can't imagine what you're going through. It was 55 degrees on the golf course this morning with 10-15 mph winds from the SE and I was frozen stiff!

Wowie! That looks so cold. You guys just stay in and be warm and dry. MB

Isn't it remarkable that Brattleboro can have had 20 inches of snow and we all think you got lucky?

Wow, stay in, safe and warm... Cannot imagine what 20" of snow would do to Seattle...

The picture reminds me of the high front stairways I have seen in Montreal. I gather there are times you need that to open your front door.

We have watched the extensive TV coverage of the big storm in New England. Best wishes for staying warm and dealing with the aftermath.
