Too bad we didn't think of Black History Month for our February theme day...perhaps next year.

I wonder if this is a symbolic statue or if it represents a particular person? I guess I'll just have to use my imagination.

This is one of my favorite works by Harlem Renaissance artist Augusta Savage (1892-1962). It's titled 'Gavin'.
