Wonderful faces! And yes, puppets require patience. It is as though they are alive yet just waiting for the Basses to provide the script for their next adventure! Such mellow tones to these images, BC. They fire the imagination.

They do look SO alive. Wonderful faces. MB

Puppet enough to be lovely, human enough to be scary...

I'm glad they are practicing the "art of patience" as you so cleverly put it because these things look very menacing and I'm a 'fraidy cat!

You have a scary camera! Yikes!

That one guy looks a little too much like Chucky. I'd be very careful.

these are very realistic puppets. I bet they put on some great shows.

The hands that crafted these patient puppets must be very skilled. Their faces are lovely... but I also have to agree with the creepiness factor!

Yes to all the above. Intriguing and creepy!

With bars on the windows, perhaps they are not patient. They may be locked up.

Quite cool these last two days the girls playing and the puppets 'frozen' w/o strings. Great juxtaposition!

Has Chucky relocated to Brattleboro? This puppet would make me very nervous.

What a bunch of mischievous looking puppets! A beautiful image with an excellent light.

Oh, boy, this one in the first pic looks like "Chucky"!
God bless you!

Great pictures, reminds me of those horror movies I used to watch 25 years ago.
Used to, but not anymore.
Happy St Paddy's day, from 2 Dubliners by heart!

Oh, Bratt, I sure have missed visitng your blog. The scarey puppets are just terrific.

As Tampa hits the high 70s this weekend, any sign of spring up your beautiful way?

Ah, you see, a horror film connection would never occur to me, as I have never seen such a film in my life. It is interesting, from these comments, how it may be possible that a horror film "closes down" the imagination. Whereas puppetry is capable of exactly the opposite.

As is often the case, it is a pleasure to visit your blog with its tantalising combinations of image and text.

fabulous photography, your lighting is so right - sure tell an interesting story...the top head is quite sinister looking -- making me wonder about the rest

yikes....great photos but I hope you hightailed it out of there once the shots were taken. Spooky with a capital S.

As do you practice patience . . .

Fantastic puppets, though I'm not sure I want them to come alive.

The are lovely pictures. Great eye. But what is it about puppets and clowns that seem to scare us so?

Dark...and cool!

Hello from a fellow Vermonter. :)

Wonderful picture, in a creepy way! I was traumatized by a puppet as a child!
Glad to hear you have moved on from crutches.
Sunny :)

Great subjects to shot and compose, quiet and patient!

You've outdone yourself, here. I don't care what kind of camera you use, you're an artist, BC.
