still hildene

robert todd lincoln pasted artwork from storybooks on these screens.
when his grandchildren wanted a particular story, they would point to one of the pictures,
demand, 'this one!'
and their grandfather would oblige by telling them the requested tale.

Inspired method by RTL! The pictures lookl Elizabethan and even Grecian. Turkeys figure prominently. One story could be Beauty and the Beast.

I recall my daughter taking a book to my father when she was under 2 but having to take it away from him as he didn't tell the story that she knew by heart. He read her the pictures as he did not have his glasses with him to manage the text! The puzzled and astounded look on her face was something I treasure to this day!
