monochrome monday: all out for brattleboro

amtrak rolls through town twice a day,
once heading north, once heading south.
this was the northbound train, carrying my beloved high school drama teacher.

Hope they manage to survive. We would all benefit.

Haha, Julie. That's not my teacher on the train, it's the conductor.

Love trains. Something romantic 'bout them.

But my teacher also 'scrubs up well' as you say.

It's perfect, please let me think of this conductor is an actor working in a romantic old movie!
I like to create stories from your posts! :)
It's a good exercise for imagination.
Have a great day dear Brattcat!

This is a neat post. I like the lack of color. Which reminds me, I saw some commercials on TV while watching some football games that were in black and white with some emphasis in a word or two in blue. They were startling and I really liked them.

I'm writing on a friend's computer, and have a short time for a quick "hello" to you. Happy blog anniversary, with some days late!

You are full of drama, Brattcat!

And I really like this photo - the composition is spot on. It's got great clarity and the people finish the job right.

What's with all the "scrubbing" up? You guys are so silly. I'm sure glad I'm not silly like that! ;-))

Nice composition.
What I enjoyed most when I moved here were the train whistles blowing at night..
For me it's like being in a Western movie

It's nice to see that some towns have working trains! We have the tracks, as I showed a week or so ago, but they discontinued the train as not practical. It would have been more practical if they'd made the schedule differently. We have to go quite a few miles for a working train. We have our one-car trolley, and we love it, but it doesn't run all the time. It's mainly for tourists. I love your photo with the two people in it. As someone said, nice drama.

So different from our trains...

Like the grey timeless look of this. Went to read up on Kipling; thanks for that!

Trains are such a perfect subject for monochrome. Really cool picture.

Timeless came to my mind first. This works so well in monochrome and you worked your composition beautifully. We would do well to build and support our rail system better and get rid of some of the cars clogging our roadways. It can be a great way to travel.
