The Poem Peddler: Paragraph One

"I'm from Portland, Maine," he said.

"I worked on a farm the last two years.
Thought I might try something different."
"Why Brattleboro?" I asked.

Oh, good tease! And I adore scalped portraits. Makes me work harder to learn someone ... I squat down, I am all ears ...

Waiting for paragraph two...
Did you tell him that your readers are now impatient to know him better?..

I love these last two posts. So mysterious. Super photos. Did you buy a poem? Did he give you a poem?He has nice gentle eyes.

He does have gentle eyes and I like how you brought him to life in color. The close cropping is simply genius at work here . . . you are helping the reader get closer to your subject.

As interesting as your photograph and your developing narrative are the comments of your viewers, above!

He is a handsome young man who could do just about anything he might like. I suspect his good looks might influence the young ladies and some old ones too, to buy some of his poems. I am curious too, how he ended up choosing Brattleboro over all the other cities, towns and villages across America.
