Wedding procession down Main Street

Yesterday, through my open window I heard
the exuberant sound of a Dixie Land Band
and discovered a wild and wonderful wedding procession
strolling down Main Street.

More insight into small town America, where really anything goes. Some nice candids here.

I have never seen this done before. It is almost as unique as that new wedding video on You Tube. That cracked me up.

Selma had a parade like that at Kathryn Windham's 90th birthday party. Lots of fun!

Looks almost like an Indian wedding, they have brass bands too. But no dixie. Check out the excellent movie: a monsoon wedding

Unusual and surprising, it was probably pleasant to the ears how it is for the eyes. Wonderful images.

Yes, Rob, I've seen Monsoon Wedding. And this did have a little of that feel to it, only very American.

That is wild and wonderful...never heard of such a thing! Does this happen often in Brattleboro?

Love the photos; you've captured the energy and excitement of the event extremely well!

What a lovely surprise for you - and such a novel idea for a wedding procession.

Thanks everyone. Jacob I've never seen something quite like this in Brattleboro before, but nothing is ever really entirely surprising here. It's a town where almost anything can happen, and more often than not usually does.

An exciting place to live! If expensive!

My first thought was that this was similar to one of the funeral processions in New Orleans; but a wedding procession is certainly more joyful than a funeral procession.

@ Clueless - Some people would say there isn't much of a difference! ;-))

Living in Brattleboro must be like living in little snippets of movies about small town America . . .

I don't think I have ever seen something like that before.
