The Poem Peddler: Introduction

He had several people hovering around him when I caught sight of him yesterday.
I waited until he was alone.

With a typewriter like that you was right to try B&W.
He reminds me of some guys in Middle East writing letters for a fee on the sidewalk. Shoes apart, his look is the same.
Awaiting more about the poem peddler...

He's at it again. More power to him.

Like Vogon Poet, the picture made me think about India, and writers in the street. In fact, the picture, especially in B&W, could have been taken almost everywhere..

How interesting. Love the b&w. The typewriter, which I used for years, seems strangely incongruous, now...

More coming, I hope?

A poet AND a musician! Of course. Did you find out more about him?
Having lived in India and the Middle East for a long time, I can only agree with Malyss and Vogon Poet. It's universal.

It's easy to see now why he has the typewriter instead of a computer. Sometimes the old ways are the best, but writing poems on the street is a tough way to make a few bucks.

Exactly like a poem to be displayed. More photos of people that I love. Myself I am not successful in this regard.
Greetings.

Really? Poems. It is a typewriter from the old days. I almost lost one like that near Iwo Jima in 1956.

Thanks for the visit. I wanted to tell someone who understands more about photography than just pushing the shutter button that your visit will count and help make history. Pick a Peck of Pixels

Bratcat! We have a poem peddler not two blocks from my office near Union Square in New York. And had I had a camera last week, I would have taken a pic of her to post on my blog. Perhaps the hearts of the poet and the poetess will someday beat as one? (And yes, there is a novel in that.)

I wonder where the clarinet comes into the story. This is a wonderful image, BC. To actually have him typing ... magical ...

This better not be a cliffhanger . . . Fantastic study in monochrome. There is so much to look at here and wonder about.

The clarinet adds such an interesting level to this already-interesting photo! It's great in B&W.
