Good heavens Brattcat, that's an incredible sight, well captured. It looks a bit like the river here during the Avon Descent. Hope you have a peaceful weekend.
The photo is lovely with its angry green water, but the destruction is sad. Hoping that life gets to normal soon. Often that condition is known as "post hurricane normal" rather than what we used to know as normal.
Water could be quite frightening and extremely beautiful at the same time. We usually see this in the sea, but I see that rivers can easily become worrying...
One cat prowls around small town Vermont.

Nature is incredibly beauty, but sometimes is very dangerous.

Wonderful capture!
Who could imagine that the peaceful, quiet Vermont, would turn into such a wild place?..I hope that all will soon go back to normality.
I've just been captivated by the stories and photos of the hurricane damage coming out of the Killington area. Stay strong Vermont!
WOW, that is some raging torrent!
When did they move the Niagra Falls to Vermont?
This is an amazing and scary site. Please don't get to close to the edge!
Another stunning image - such power in that water.
I hope the drama of this river is well away from your home.
You look like you might have been standing in the middle of it! What a wonderful perspective.

A beautiful photo, but I know in actuality a sad thing to see. Thoughts and prayers for all of you in Vermont.

The roiling waters in Vermont contrast with generally full but calm rivers down here. Good luck, brattcat.
That IS a lot of water. And despite the knowledge of why it's roaring, it is still a beautiful shot.
Photographers are really dedicated people.

Very scary when it's unconfined. I looked at YouTube videos of Rye NY (my mother-in-laws home town) with the main streets as rivers.
What a spectacular photo !
Incredible.
