I love this photo! This is one of those scenes I don't see very often and I have fond memories of helping my mother hang out the clothes to dry. Photos like this always bring back those pleasant memories.
I, too, love this photo but I cannot articulate why. It's just so . . .so. . .pleasing.

My wife is addicted to clothesline pictures, so this will be printed out for her collection.
Your words go perfectly with the photo...I love laundry hung outside to dry...soft sweet smelling and soft if there's a breeze.
Hanging the clothes on the line was my job as a kid. I didn't much care for it (boring) but I still remember the smell when they were folded and brought in. The smell of ozone I think. Fabric softeners try to mimic that smell.
I can smell it!

Boy, you don't see many clotheslines anymore...at least not around here! We used them all the time when I was a kid, though.
