This post made me grin from ear to ear. Gosh it really is nice to see this again. Free drying. It is amazing how advertising and the word, "convenience" influences change.
I love this photo! This is one of those scenes I don't see very often and I have fond memories of helping my mother hang out the clothes to dry. Photos like this always bring back those pleasant memories.
Great shot. I love clothes hung outside. Great picture and good smells.
Regarding have the young man staying with me: We all are products of our home life and oh so true when a teenager spends time with you. LOL. I just hope he went home with some positive ideas. MB
Hanging the clothes on the line was my job as a kid. I didn't much care for it (boring) but I still remember the smell when they were folded and brought in. The smell of ozone I think. Fabric softeners try to mimic that smell.

I, too, love this photo but I cannot articulate why. It's just so . . .so. . .pleasing.
love this composition!
Oh..
So wonderful memories come to mind looking at this photograph...
I really like the way you have been playing with Lights recently.

My wife is addicted to clothesline pictures, so this will be printed out for her collection.
Your words go perfectly with the photo...I love laundry hung outside to dry...soft sweet smelling and soft if there's a breeze.

I can smell it!
So many colours, not just in the washing but all those gorgeous greens too. Marvellous. Lovely shot.
Very great place for the laundry
so natural I can almost smell it ;)
Can't wait until clothes-drying weather hits my part of the world :)
Boy, you don't see many clotheslines anymore...at least not around here! We used them all the time when I was a kid, though.
Lovely colors!
The best way to dry clothes, without a doubt.
I feel the same way as Abe on this subject. This image has a folksie feel; it is such an uncommon sight.
Natural clothes dryer! Go green!
Great composition and colours. Just lovely!
Great light and lovely colors.
Vhat a nice light! Morninc certainly...
I do like this hodge-podge of clothing hanging from the line. I especially like the small wooden pegs keeping them in place.
Nothing smells quite as wonderful as sun-dried laundry!
Nice, and it always smells nice!!! :-)
I imagine how wonderful those clothes will smell. Nothing like it!
