window of opportunity

In the sunniest spots the snow has started to recede, revealing the crushed vegetation beneath.
Winter has taken the opportunity to gnaw on this wall.
It, too, has begun a path of receding and revealing.

In an odd way these browns and greys hold such a promise of new life to come!
Thanks for stopping by this morning. For some reason I've fallen out of the portal and the issue isn't getting resolved. My visits have slowed to a trickle.

What a beautiful window, love that blue sky and that rugged wall. Hope you had a great weekend :)

Until I enlarged your photo, I thought it was a mirror resting on the stone wall !
Next step, green stuff coming up between the crushed vegetation!! Yeah!!

Such an interesting photo and beautiful description.

Could it be, perhaps, that the gnawing was done by a very large bear who didn't want to bother climbing over the wall?

I know, I know. That's kind of dumb. You've just got to bear with me.

As I don't have snow here, this is really interesting to observe. Nice composition too.

Those poor trees, it looks like the dirt has been washed away from under them.

Again, very nice texture in this one.
