my silence was

the result of a fascinating trip to mars...
lift off was from the roger williams natural history museum in providence, r.i.

Mission to Mars; if only it were so. I'm just finishing up a bio of Neil Armstrong and the enthusiasm after the moon landing was so great it seemed as if Mars would be landed upon in the next decade or so. Unfortunately, we all know how that played out.

Last winter, I attended a talk in Florida by a geology professor from Brown about his department's involvement with the current Mars exploratory mission. But I have never been to this museum. Nor to Mars.
