when i posted an image of one of my knitted orphalines a while back

genie, of paris and beyond, fell in love with it.

"may i have one just like it?" genie asked. "i'll pay a handsome price."

hmmm, i thought, something very beautiful could be done with a handsome price...

"sure thing," i told genie.

so while genie went to paris

i selected the yarn, planned the color scheme, picked up the needles

et voila, with a knit, and a purl, and a click, click, click
this jaunty fellow entered the world...

and is now happily residing with genie in alabama.

genie would welcome naming suggestions.

I think this is a boy cat. Because of his many colours I would like to suggest that he be named 'Jacob'.

Oh, brattcat, what a wonderful post on my new handsome companion! He is definitely a boy-cat, and I await the "naming of cat" suggestions. You astound me, ma chère amie!

Bises,
Genie (and cat)

What a nice yarn with which to start the day. You do beautiful work. My mother used to make monkeys out of yarn. And she could often make a monkey out of me.

So far as a name goes, the only thing I could come up with had something to do with a bratwurst...no, that's not right. It was a cat. Brat...cat?

What a wonderful creation! For some reason, Mr. Yams comes to mind, probably because the cat reminds me of the color of yams. Pretty yams, mind you :^)

Be careful; you might have to start a new business! How generous of you to send it to another blogger...no-one nicer than Genie!

Oh Brattcat, he's wonderful - just like my little Brattdog who sits on my desk and reminds me of you! How lucky we bloggers are to have you...

He looks like a Tom to me. So perhaps Tomas... And come to think of there is something rather Poirot about him too.

I look forward to hearing what he's called.
