a momentary dearth of snow

though we'll be tromping through drifts of it soon enough

This looks like a scene that Andrew Wyeth would paint.

That really looks pretty and a nice respite from the snow. As long as you get a white Christmas, right?

You will have to go back for an updated view when the snow comes.

Very pretty scene; it would fun to see again, after the dearth is over.
Have a good weekend.

Yes, what Steffe says--it would be neat to see a follow-up image in snow. So soon that white fluff will be making everything new again.

I agree with Dave about this scene! I guess it's only a matter of time before the white stuff falls.

A very interesting composition...almost looks like that house sank into the ground - sort of like Lois' shot from Cedar Key of a few days back...

You think you'll get more snow this winter? :-)

Awesome photo. Looks like the area around Eureka Springs, AR to me.

It has always been a fantasy to spend a winter in a comfortable Vermont cabin in the woods with a couple of big dogs, enough firewood and food. This looks like the ideal spot for such a dream.

Nice scene. Be thankful for a reprieve from the snow. It will hit soon enough.

Can't believe it. We've already had 11 inches so far this season and we aren't out of Dec. yet. Our snow doesn't usually show up until Jan. We're lucky to have white Christmases around here.

It is a fantastic shot. Like to see it when the snow arrives.

I hope that snow is not a wish of yours: our blizzard cured me of that!

Dave's observation is right on, Wyeth would have liked this!!

If there was a "Painting with pixels" contest, this would be a winner. So beautiful.
