I have never seen these before and I would love to try them!

My husband loves those things. He can remember when as a child he and his Mom used to go out looking for them and she would bring them home and cook them up.

It is much more appetizing to compare its appearance to brain coral than to what brain coral looks like. These mushrooms are extraordinary.

Well, I'll take your word for it!

Re your question on Ocala DP: The building used to be a bank, I believe, but I don't know what it's used for at the moment. I think a variety of businesses have set up shop there, but none have lasted.

These are the wonderful mushrooms I remember from my youth when living in Illinois!

Wow, up till now I had seen them only on books. Are they good?

VP said...

Are these things from another planet? At first I thought of natural sponges with a handle, but I don't think they're edible...

brattcat said...

Oh, Valeria, 'good' doesn't even begin to describe them.

I will have to take your word for it.

I have never eaten a morel. I have seen photos and read that they are the holy grail for mushroom hunters. I guess they are on my bucket list.

I've walked thru many a wood, but, as Amin says,' I have not seen before so like mushrooms.' And maybe I am alone in thinking they look . . .icky. I will take your trusty word for it that they are tasty!
