When I think of Vermont two things come to mind; covered bridges and maple syrup...oh make that three...and BC!

I imagine Ottaquechee is a Native name? I love covered bridges since I walked a couple in Québec. This one is no exception. They are so poetic.

This is a bit different from some covered bridges I've seen...very nicely done! You're fortunate to have these things. We're lucky if our old concrete bridges span the width of the water! Don't want to fall in, ya know, 'cause of the gators!

Re "pair of tweets" - Heh, heh!

A very cool bridge! I love the lattice and the light and shadows it creates.

Such bridges ALWAYS make me think of Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood, in Madison County...What a marvellous wooden lace!

Hi again...thanks for your nice comment on Ocala DP. Yes, Lois bought a lithium quartz crystal which has special healing qualities, as a gift for a friend.

I did buy a couple of bumper stickers, which I will NOT put on our car, but hang somewhere in the garage, probably.

I still have to find a covered bridge that isn't a thing of beauty.

I don't think we have any, so I find covered bridges truly fantastic! So is your photo!

Your photos are always on such a high level of taste, color and composition. But how can you keep this line so high in every post??? :-))

The covered bridges have a great deal of charm. Sometimes I've wondered why they are covered in the first place. Maybe because of all the snow you get, but then the road on either side isn't covered.

I never saw one of these bridges, this is really beautiful! The light pattern through the side is amazing.
