There are few things that make a better statement of summer than watermelons. They're cool, delicious, and can be used so many different ways! these slices are fairly large.
In Spain we have such watermelons and they are delicious. Do you know the Fashion brand?

What's with all the hot weather up there? Maybe y'all oughta start coming to Florida in the summer? ;-)
When in my teens I worked on a farm in central California and we picked watermelons. Talk about hot. And hard work. But when we took a break we'd break one of them open and eat the juicy heart and discard the rest. Best watermelon I've ever tasted!

I love watermelon and it is such an sign of the season! We're still unseasonably cool here, but it's coming.
Now you've done it! I didn't think it possible, but I can taste something cold and sweet from my memory and seeing this lovely image. You guys in the east are the heat champs. That humidity does in us wimps who grew up on dry heat.
