Dueling spires

This morning the honorable blogger from Portland, Maine posted three spires from his fair city. As a tip of the steeple to him, I thought I'd post this trio from Brattleboro.

Why do sharp edge of the tower would always wonder. We have architecture different from ours. Do you wonder why these cultural differences?

Yes, I do wonder. That's an excellent question...why the spire, why the dome? Do you suppose it has something to do with the different climates in which these architectural treatments developed? Can anyone help us with this?

That's so funny! Dueling spires, indeed.

They probably do duel in some ways!

Great photo. Thanks. My first laugh of the day!

It seems like there is a lot of dueling spires in most towns. Nice shot too.

What a wonderful response during this high holy season. I can't imagine a New England town or port city without a few spires pointing "the way".
